Pumpkin Carving, Baby!

Pumpkin carving is my favorite part of Halloween festivities. Yesterday evening, the Harveyville residents took to the batch of pumpkins we’d collected with gusto.

Here is me getting at the pumpkin with a knife - I’ve saved my pumpkin carving utensils for 3 years for this event. (Sadly, when we lived in KC, our 12th floor apartment did not lend itself to the display of jack-o-lanterns.)

And here is Gord, pulling out the guts of a pumpkin. Ron, one of the owners of the school, is behind him drawing on the largest pumpkin of the bunch.

And lastly, here is all five pumpkins in their firey glory. Mine is the slightly surprised looking jack-o-lantern 2nd from the right. He just swallowed a candle and is pretty pissed.

I saved the seeds from all 5 pumpkins - they’re in a bowl in the fridge. I’m thinking a little Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning sounds yummy.
